love over gold
this year’s group is diverse bunch of ladies: two naomis, two jewlery designers, three portland gals, five seattle girls, one stranger to me + a year full of mailable art has begun. like always, monthly titles are in conjunction to my card alone.
not all who wander are lost
october’s card are trickling in still. a year of mailable art is almost complete + ideas for next year’s projects are in the works. i will be sending a call for artists for next year’s group so if you would like to get on the email list be sure to email your address so i can add you. firstname.lastname@example.org more from this years group can be seen here.
post script: sorry for the horrid lighting, oh iphone + all its convenience.
i am hoping things are back into full swing over here at workhouse, we have a lot to catch up on. above are the cards from last months secret society and only a few more months to go, i cannon believe how fast this year has gone + how short our seattle summer has been. although short, i must say that it has been one of the best summers i have had in a long time and i feel lucky that it was all mostly spent as family time. i can remember certain summers by songs that played on the radio or albums that i listened to over and over and i think our theme song for the summer is a mix of the little mermaid + katy perry’s fireworks, both which lucy sang at the top of her lungs for our road trip. wowzers! i must say life is full + there is more to behold now that kindergarten has started, i am easing into this next phase of my life slowly and with more intention + direction.
here are a few more sweet things from the past week:
-picking blackberries + making jam
-being reminded on my birthday that i am so loved by many
-the excitement of my little bro leaving the nest
-being blessed with the most magical kindergarten
teacher that ever has been
-reuniting with some of my favorite people
-planning a sweet 16 for my niece
-cleaning up the yard after much neglect
-beaching with the mad crew
what are favorite things from the past week or the summer? i’d love to see what you did, send blog or photos links my way. here’s to a lovely fall…
for those of you who have been following the secret postcard society, here’s what you’ve missed for the last 2 months. for those of you who are just learning about this, you can find january here + febuary here. i started a postcard society this year along with 8 other artists from across the country. we send out cards to each member at the end of every month; i love the way they trickle in during the week, its like getting little birthday gifts every month. the titles that i post are the titles of my cards, although the identity of mine remains a secret.
march: you are my favorite ghost
april: walk around the house like a fucking champion
(as received by a member. amazing.)
i will let you in on a bit of a secret within the secret society: we have had a member change, some cards have not made it to the addressee in one piece + the usps is nicer than you think.
